We were interested in installing a solar hot water system to augment our domestic hot water needs and to begin the process of going greener. We spent months doing our homework and received several quotes for the installation. It wasn't till we received a quote from Frank at R.C. North that we knew we were on to the potential installer. After several discussions with Frank and Cindy, we knew that R.C. North would be our choice for several reasons;
- They came out and surveyed the job BEFORE starting.
- They explained the process in detail down to the billing
- They displayed superior system knowledge.
- They didn't attempt to pull the proverbial wool over our eyes with crazy billing schemes; and
- They bailed us out of a situation which many homeowners may find themselves in from time to time, at nominal costs which I will explain.
After the initial solar install quote we decided to replace our aging oil burring furnace with a high condensing, wall hung gas unit. Knowing what we know now, we should have put more thought into this issue but we were concerned with taking on the additional costs. We called several gas companies to compare propane prices and to get an idea of install costs. We settled on a local propane provider who also employes and install staff. Since their install team was busy they referred us to a local technician who agreed to do the job knowing that it would tie into the solar system.
Needless to say the original technician backed out of the job and we were left with making yet another choice. R.C. North stepped up to the plate, quoted the furnace install at a VERY reasonable rate and we were off and running again.
The best part of the whole process, besides dealing with a great install crew(Steve, Dan, Dave and George), was that we paid exactly what was quote; and Frank came back a week after completion to follow-up on any questions we might have and to ensure we were happy with our new system.
Since dealing with R.C. North was such a positive and informative experience we do not hesitate recommending them.
